The Tom Lantos Institute has been supporting the implementation of rural Hungarian Jewish culture and history projects for years.
With the support and participation of the Tom Lantos Institute, the „Day of Remembrance” an annual event of the Sátoraljaújhely community remembering Jewish life in this locality, took place for the seventh time on October 20. As part of this year's programme, a commemorative event was held in the former building of the Sándor Szeg fashion store, along with a conference and publication on the history of Jewish life in Mád. Additionally, a new website presenting Jewish sites in Zemplén County was developed as part of the project.
A detailed documentation of the Day of Remembrance in Hungarian can be found on the community's official website.

In October 2022, we organized with the Israel Cultural Institute a cultural event and conference on the diversity and history of the four Jewish communities in Transdanubia. Presentations, exhibitions, artefacts and community initiatives provided an insight into the past and present of the Jewish communities of Siófok, Székesfehérvár, Szombathely, and Kővágóőrs in the Káli Basin.
