2022 will mark the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities. In connection with this anniversary and taking into account the feedback received from participants of the Global Minority Rights Summer School and Regional Forum participants, TLI developed a comprehensive guide on the global minority rights protection regime.

The development of the guide was based on a detailed needs-assessment that identified the most relevant mechanisms and thematic areas for potential users, and determined what focus and type of guide would best support the work of rights defenders, NGOs and minority representatives active in the field of minority rights. The guide itself has two components: a text-based guide with a simple format and easy-to-understand language, and two short animated videos that provide an overview of minority protection norms and mechanisms.

The Guide and the videos are available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Arabic.
