The Tom Lantos Institute carried out background research in 2019 with the aim of developing an online database of educational initiatives in Hungary that address antisemitism. We mapped out, collected and categorised most educational projects implemented between 2014 and 2018 focusing on the Holocaust, antisemitism, and Jewish history and culture.
In December, we presented the preliminary findings of the research at an expert meeting, and also discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the categorisation. Following the identification of potential users and an assessment of their needs, we also gathered feedback on how to present relevant data to potential users in a user-friendly way in an online database.
An online database designed for education experts will be developed in 2020 with the financial support of the European Union.
