The Tom Lantos Institute is organising the eighth Global Minority Rights Summer School for university students, minority representatives, educators, civil servants, journalists, and NGO staff. Each year, participants examine a relevant minority issue with the guidance of local and international experts. The course also acts as a global workshop, where lecturers and students discuss the most important trends and challenges in the field of global minority protection.
The 2020 Summer School is organised by the Tom Lantos Institute and the National University of Public Service, in cooperation with Minority Rights Group International and Eurac Research. The topic of this year’s course is “hate speech, social media and minorities,” reflecting the theme of the 2020 UN Forum on Minority Issues. As in previous years, lectures will be delivered by prominent academics and minority representatives. Participating students will also have the opportunity to present their own research.
Information about previous years’ courses can be found here.
